Percy is American/Canadian Ch. Phi-Vestavia Nautilus, PT, CGC, TDI, ROMG. He was born January 28, 1989 and is owned by Cathy Ochs-Cline, Patrick Ormos, Helen Turin and Kathy Steele. He is a wonderful house dog, consummate clown, dynamic show dog and tireless working dog. Known for his impeccable temperament and personality, he is a breeder's dream come true. He has accumulated an amazing number of wins and is just beginning to have fun with performance eventing. His children are following in his footsteps with wins of their own and performance titles galore.

Percy is the first Cardigan to go Best in Specialty at the Canadian National Specialty AND the American National Specialty. He has won under all-rounders, American breeder-judges, and foreign breeder-judges. He seems to have something for everyone!

This is the Breeder's picture taken at the 1996 National Specialty. Our pride in this special boy is apparent!  He is such a character, we actually fight over who he is going to live with.

Although Percy has been handled by many different people, it has never dampened his love of the ring. He is showing himself off -- we are merely there to hold his leash.  He loves herding almost as much. Calling him off the stock and out of the arena is the biggest challenge. He will literally work until he drops.

Percy is one of those rare outcrossed dogs who is an excellent producer himself.  He is the sire of 60 Champions, six of them are specialty winners, and many of these have performance titles as well!  He is the sire of the top Cardigan for 1996/1997 and the grandsire of the top Cardigan for 1999/2000.  His children are proudly carrying the torch into the next millennium.

Percy is truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog. I feel very blessed to have him as my own. He is a joy to live with and be around -- a real buddy.  All his accolades are icing on the cake.  I love him for the dog he is, not what he has won. I pray he is with me a long, long time.

I wanted to send a special thank you to everyone who helped Percy win the Stud Dog classes at Nationals.

1996 -- Ch. Spectrum Taxi Dancer (who was BOS to her father at the National) and Am/Can Ch. McLea's Admiral (top Cardigan 1996/1997)

1997 -- Ch. Phi-Vestavia Good Gracious (Award of Merit winner), Am/Can. Ch. McLea's Admiral and Am/Can. Ch. Phi-Vestavia Truth or Dare (three-time Award of Merit winner at Nationals)

1998 -- Ch. Phi-Vestavia Good Gracious and Ch. Warwick-Larchmont Bodacious (two-time winner of the So. Cal Specialty)

2000 -- This year the stud dog class was before Best of Breed.  I made the decision NOT to take in Champions who had not been judged yet,  so this year was a little different!  (Ch.) Phi-Vestavia Peter Pan (RWD at National), (Ch.) Grangefield Evening Endeavour (RWB at National) and Ch. Phi-Vestavia Andrew's Pride, CD (Winner of Veterans Dog Class, Award of Merit and Best Veteran)
